Adventure Time (formerly known as Adventure Time with Finn and Jake) is an American animated television series created by Pendleton Ward and produced by Frederator Studios. The show is based on an original animated short titled "Adventure Time," which aired on Frederator's Random! Cartoons show and won an Annie Award for the Best Animated Short Subject of 2009. The series is about a boy named Finn and a twenty-eight year-old, magical dog named Jake who encounter many strange adventures in the Land of Ooo. In 2010, Cartoon Network picked up the series, and it premiered with "sneak peeks" on March 11 and 18, 2010 followed by the official series premiere on April 5, 2010. This series is rated TV-PG, with a few re-rated episodes.

Synopsis[]

The series follows the adventures of Finn, a last human boy on Earth, and his best friend and adoptive brother Jake, a dog with magical powers to change shape and grow and shrink at will. Finn and Jake live in a Tree Fort along with their robot BMO in the post-apocalyptic Land of Ooo.

Jake is in a vast relationship with Lady Rainicorn, although not confirmed whether they are married or not, and have five children. Finn however has a crush on the princess of the Candy Kingdom, Princess Bubblegum, but later understands that she is too old for him. He however finds a new girlfriend Flame Princess with whom their love life is on hiatus.

Princess Bubblegum has been alive for a very long time and even was friends with Finn's previous incarnation Shoko. She build the whole Candy Kingdom and created its citizens. Lady Rainicorn is the best friend of Princess Bubblegum and only is able to speak Korean. Flame Princess has been a danger for Ooo since her birth. Her father locked her up in a glass, on request of Bubblegum, to keep Ooo safe. She hates her father and has a short tempter. She truggles between the fact whether she is good or bad.

Finn and Jake also have an enemy named Ice King. He was formerly known as Simon Petrikov when he was a human. But upon discovering a magical crown he was gained immortality and ice powers. His fiancee Betty left him because of this. After the bomb dropped on Earth he spent his remaining days of human on Earth with Marceline. He has lost all of his human memories and now captures princesses in Ooo to fill the emptyness in his heart. Marceline is the daughter of the ruler of the Nightosphere, Hunson Abadeer. She was abandoned on Earth and was guided back to her father by Simon. She has been struggling her whole life with her father. In her teenage years she became a vampire and moved to Ooo and became friends with Finn, Jake and her current best friend Princess Bubblegum.

Lumpy Space Princess is a friend of Princess Bubblegum and the heroes Finn and Jake. Like many princesses she has a crush on Finn. However LSP thinks she is the hottest princess of them all, while in reality she is the opposite.
